His free hand took yours and gently pressed circles into the unharmed skin on your knuckles. You joined him, seeing as he was asleep as well, and snuggled into his side. But you refused to give him that satisfaction, and continued to pout on the sofa. While you were pondering a sarcastic response, you felt the sofa dip under his weight, and he pulled you into his lap without any protest from you. His touch was feather light and delicate, and, to your surprise, sent shivers up and down your spine. .
That thought alone was enough to bring a little smile to your face. You were shaking by now, memories distantly flashing through your mind, eyes wide as you struggled to stay conscious. Your breath caught in your throat as you tensed up, catching sight of the needle as the doctor drew the solution into the syringe. You felt the doctor press the alcohol swab to your arm, sterilizing it. You smiled and laughed as he recalled the memory, and he was talking so quickly, that his thick accent had you giggling, you adored it. The nurse, however, was oblivious, and left the room confused and wanting to refer you both to the mental ward. Horan, could you please comfort your wife? Your knees were pulled up to your chin, your arms trying to protect your body, which was huddled against the bricks of the bakery.
In your own panic, you had tried to defend yourself, hitting Zayn in the chest in absolute terror as he had walked up to you, a misinterpreted gesture of kindness, until he had backed away. You were faintly aware of the throbbing ache in your leg, but nothing seemed in focus except for his beautiful eyes. He held his hands up. You barely knew Zayn from school, but he was always feared and intimidating. He subconsciously moved an arm to cradle you against him, and you savored the very perfect moment with your very perfect little Tomlinson family. They finally collapsed on the bed, completely exhausted, her small frame curled up on his chest, his arms wrapped around her, her face buried in his neck, as he gently pressed a kiss to her forehead. You sighed and gave in, nuzzling your face into his neck.
You admitted that you had judged him purely from his appearance. That made your heart flutter, and you knew he could feel it against his chest. I gotcha, pretty girl, I gotcha. He tied an expert knot in the cloth, and it effectively stopped the bleeding. While walking in the alley, a hooded man had attacked you, and soon, another man, which you now recognized as Zayn, had begun to fight him, and the man had run off. She let out a high-pitched shriek, trying to worm her way out of his grasp, to no avail. She left the room as you kissed him happily, and she put a Band-Aid on your tiny little scratch where the needle had gone in.
You watched him as he worked, his bottom lip pale as it was bitten. Your position in my arms says differently, babe. You and Niall both burst out laughing as you realized the design—it was a 1D band aid!! You turned your head feebly, struggling to see, as he tenderly tilted your chin back up to meet his eyes once again. Horan, this injection is necessary. Please just give me a chance.
He was aware that you would have hurt yourself further if you had seen your hurt body and fainted or freaked out. You wanted so badly to assess the damage and see what had happened, why part of you was numb and the other was in a searing, but fading, pain. One look from those big puppy eyes and you were absolutely and completely whipped. His hands and bag had what appeared to be paint on them, and you began to relax more. You snapped a picture quietly as you watched the absolutely adorable scene play out.
He grabbed her foot, causing her to squeal, and began tickling her. He was a hero…your hero. Your breathing began to increase. He laughed, the sound vibrating against your ear. He stayed with you for several long minutes, keeping you from panicking after looking at your wounds, until the ambulance finally reached you.
